I will Sing of My Redeemer

Lady at the Piano

What a blessing to be redeemed.  What a blessing to have a personal relationship with my Savior.

What a blessing to know that sin has no hold on me and death has no sting.

What a joyous thing to be a Christian, and be able to cling to the promises of Christ.

I will sing of my Redeemer,
And His wondrous love to me;
On the cruel cross He suffered,
From the curse to set me free.

Sing, oh sing, of my Redeemer,
With His blood, He purchased me.
On the cross, He sealed my pardon,
Paid the debt, and made me free.

I will tell the wondrous story,
How my lost estate to save,
In His boundless love and mercy,
He the ransom freely gave.

I will praise my dear Redeemer,
His triumphant power I’ll tell,
How the victory He giveth
Over sin, and death, and hell.

I will sing of my Redeemer,
And His heav’nly love to me;
He from death to life hath brought me,
Son of God with Him to be.

I Love My Hymnal

Sunday school class, Manzanar Relocation Center, California
I love my hymnal.

I love the music, I love the poetry.

I love singing hymns, I love just reading them.

The hymnal was once found in every American home right next to the Bible.

But as fewer are proficient in music, the hymnals that were once so loved lie dusty on the shelves, if they're even there at all.

Writing About Music

Ethel Barrymore, 1879-1959
Why is it so hard to write about music?

I assumed when I started this blog I would have more than enough to say about music........

But I don't.

In fact even though I have a degree in music, writing about it has proven very difficult for me.

Maybe it's because music says all those things that just can't be put into words.

I'm not sure.

But I'm still serving through song.
